I’m still breathing. I have put aside my sewing, blogging and marketing to give myself a nice break. Here I am in Kuala Lumpur attending UYMG Malaysia, a Stephen Pierce internet marketing event . Today is my fourth and last day of the long sessions(each day’s session ended only after 8 pm). But nobody is complaining. We are enjoying ourselves here.
Tomorrow I will catch up with some shopping before I head for home back to my sewing and marketing for the family. If I have my choice I would like to stay a few more days as I love the warm Malaysians, especially my favorite cousin, Fairuz, and her beautiful kids, Lina and Azri. But my kids and my significant other back home need me. Life is certainly not easy when Mom is not around.
So catch up with you later as I am still in the middle of the seminar in KLCC. See you soon.
My father has always been a quiet person, answering questions in monosyllables and most times with just a smile.
And I have always been daddy’s little girl. I cannot recall going to doctors when I was growing up. Each time I fell sick my dad would turn doctor, reciting some mantras into the plain water to let me drink.
This went on until I was a mother of 3. I remember the time I had an unusually bad and prolonged stomach ache. Instead of going to the doctor, I called Dad. I called him when my second child had a bad fall. I called him when my third child ran high fever until couldn’t walk that the GP was worried and ordered him to be sent to hospital. Dad again came to the rescue, tirelessly applying reflexology until my boy was back on his feet again after about 24 hours.
He was also the one I called for my electrical and plumbing problems. Now he is in advanced stage of Parkinson. His voice is almost inaudible but I’m glad he can still smile especially when I ask him silly questions.
This cross-stitch card which I stitched can be also made into gift tag and this can be sewn in just a few hours.
It has been a long time since I last wrote. Mom has been sick and that took the mood out.
Anyway I spent the last 4 days at the World Internet Mega Summit with more than 3000 people. As expected there were many great speakers who showcased their wonderful products. If I have tons of money I would not mind getting most of them.
Being the second time at the internet seminar, the first being UYMG in March, I am happy to announce that I have graduated from the Internet Idiot to a Newbie in Internet Marketing . Thanks to my mentor, internet marketing language is no more Greek to me. I enjoyed myself this time round especially the networking part and I got many tips from the experts waiting to put into action.
Talking about Newbie, I would like to show you my first patchwork project. I was so proud of this pair of patchwork cushions. Why don’t you give this simple pattern a try? Contact me if you need guide for the patchwork patterns until I figure out how to give instructions online.
In anything we start from the beginning and slowly go to the next level.
The high tea spread on Mother’s Day at Carousel was delicious. It was good having reason to dress-up and to forget the kitchen. And at night was another get-together organised by my in-laws.
It has been a great outing but on the way home I received news of the demise of an ex-colleague. She succumbed to cancer after battling for almost a year leaving behind 5 young kids. She had always been a cheerful person and was still her bubbly self even though she was too weak to walk on my last visit. Leaving us when many were celebrating Mother’s day, I pray to God to give his kids strength to carry on without their mom. Although I am almost half a century old, my own mom never fail to check whether I have eaten whenever I visit her.
I did this cross-stitch sampler in 1991. Contact me for the pattern if you are interested.
This is oneof my favourite songs. I was singing (or you would say croaking) when it hit me that sewmyname would make a nice name for my website. So I bought the name even though I wasn’t sure if I should blog. They say blogging is time consuming and I’m not sure if I will have that much energy to be a committed blogger. But baby, I’m trying!
As introduced earlier, I am Fatiah aka Cinderfella aka Desperate HouseWipe and aka so many more names. But Cinderfella suits me as I am always cleaning, cooking and either holding a broom, feather duster ormop. I guess with four spoiltkids plus one, housework is a never-ending story. And now with Mommy dearest has started blogging, my humble abode always looks like it was hit by little Tsunami!
So if you can’t say my name properly, just call me Cinderfella as sewn in my apron.
The apron and cleaning set were gifts from my dear friends which I’m saving for Prince Charming when he shows up with my other missing slipper.
Doesn’t really matter if you can’t say my name but do remember my site ok, SEWMYNAME.COM.
Hi I’m Fatiah, the accidental blogger, a housewife with four kids trying to beat the monotonous of cooking and cleaning!
One fine day I went to a Stephen Pierce talk and ended up in his wonderful UYMG(Unleash Your Marketing Genius) seminar. It was a great experience spending 4 days with this Great Guru. An eye and mind-opening session, except that I was lost.
I was feeling very much an IT idiot. Being a non-techie with little computer background except for Microsoft applications, customized programs and occasional internet surfings, I had no idea of internet marketing before.
I wanted to give up after the second day but hubby dearest wanted me to continue. So I dragged myself to the seminar the following day where I met 63 year old Robin from Melbourne who told me not to give up. “You’re stillyoung and it is never too old to learn†she said. Robin herself has picked up internet marketing just a year ago.
Then by the grace of God I met my mentor, Alvin. Through his guidance, I have graduated, not yet to the level of marketing genius, but to someone wise enough to be able to produce this website. I hope to share with you my passion for sewing, patchwork and fabric crafts.
