Ties that Bind

It has been almost a week of feasting and visiting to celebrate Eidul Fitri. In our region it is a tradition in this joyous month to take as much opportunity as possible to visit families and friends when normal days everyone is just too busy with own lives. It is a great time to catch up with relationships and to strengthen the ties that bind.

My beautiful kidssofa setOn the left are my four beautiful kids taken on first day of Eidul Fitri- Tamim, Zurikh, Muaz and my girl, Rushdah.

To match my cathedral window cushions I have sewn a circle patchwork table runner in another version of cathedral window pattern but this one is all machine sewn unlike the two cushions which are hand pieced. The dark brown cotton material with pretty ladies and vases motifs is a lovely cotton from India. My only complaint is that the color runs, so I have to take extra care washing it.

Dining setMy dining set patchwork are patched in combination of blue and red American cottons. The dining chair covers hide the otherwise old upholstery of the chairs making the whole set looking new and vibrant. I chose to sew the covers with ties from bias strips to keep them in place.Dining chair cover

To all let us take this chance to patch old relationships, weave new ones and strengthen the ties that bind us together.
